But:
A) The price is out of my budget. My budget is around $ 1200-$ 1500
B) I am not at all interested in 3D or 3D glasses.
I’m going to use this Television for watching blu-ray movies, netflix and comcast/dishnetwork. I like name brands such as Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba, Sony, not Vizio, Sceptre, Proscan

I just bought a true hd LED 46in Samsung, 1,000,000: 1 contrast….
I actually got it for 1599+ plus I also got the 5 yr extended warranty. With my card I will get it for no interest for 24 months so I should have it paid off well before then….
(and yes it’s a LED not a LCD)
Considering it will basically be the same as if I paid in cash, is this a good deal? I have thirty days to change my mind and if I can find it lower elsewhere withing the 30 days they will honor the price…
(if anyone knows of a better deal please let me know!)

Additionally I also bought a Sony HD dvd player/recorder…. I really do not want to pay additional fees each month on my satellite service. Has anyone had problems with these or any pet peeves? I am new to HD and I just want to make sure I am not getting ripped off.
I’ll purchase all the hdmi cables I need from my sat service installer when I upgrade my receivers
I work for a major sat provider and when I upgrade my receivers to the HD mpeg four 1080i models I will purchase the HDMI cabling from the tech when they come out to install. I can get brand new ones for 20 each. I was planning to get a couple for other plug ins… As for the Sony – I did not get the Blu-Ray. Blue-ray is much to costly and I wanted a recorder so I could record from the tv without a dvr. plus this one upscales to 1080. I do not purchase blue-ray dvds so as long as it records in hd I am good. It was only $ 118 
Blu-Ray is sweet but it’s not sweet enough for the price tag. Especially since most of my DVDs aren’t blu-ray and a blu-ray hd player/recorder would have been ungodly expensive, what state 350+ at least?

Whats the best led tv to get with a glossy screen?
I was at walmart and noticed a 46″ samsung that had a glossy screen. Its picture quality looked a 1000x better then any other tv they had up on the wall. Since I want atleast a 47″, the samsung is out of reach. Does anyone know the best 47″-52″ led that has a glossy screen? I like lg, and samsung but am open to other tvs. I have tried searching glossy and it does not pull up much. Please help.
Not looking at Plasma’s due to playing video games and am not risking ruining my tv from pausing them burning images on the screen.

Also, how much of a difference does it really make? I am looking at the LG that I can get for $ 200 cheaper than the samsung, but they seem virtually identical. In fact the LG has a couple more component inputs.
and I can get a Sony for $ 400 less than the samsung, but it also 3″ smaller, but still yeilds virtually the same feature set.
Is the Samsung name really worth the $ 200/$ 400 over the LG/Sony?

I have a Samsung 40 inch LED HDTV. It looks amazing. Shows rich colors.
Actually, I have changed its color settings to dynamic so that I could enjoy rich colors. But the problem is (or so I think that its a problem) that sometimes when I am watching an HD channel, the red color really looks so rich that it seems that something is wrong with picture. Is that a problem? Have you ever experienced this problem in your LED or LCD?
